Thayer has been a keen gamer since the age of 6, when she started playing Oh Mummy! on the ZX Spectrum. Having spent her later teens amongst the Infogrames team in Sheffield, she picked up a keen interest in the industry. She has since organised games industry round tables with ELSPA, co-organised the first Women in Games mixer in 2007, and been a keen participant and organiser with London Games Week. She has also published in the Independent regarding getting work in the games industry. She is a self confessed game-a-holic and spends at least 20 hours a week gaming across all genres.
