Media partners announce call for entries

5 Jan 2012: media partners Manchester Evening News, Liverpool post and The Journal in Newcastle announce the call for entries to Big Chip 2012. Entries are invited from across the North before the closing date of 5 March. A rule change will make it easier for bigger projects that take longer to show results.

Preparations underway for 2012

16 Dec 2011: Arrangements are already well advanced for Big Chip 2012. The awards will be opening for entries on 5 January 2012 and will close 5 March. The judging panel will be announced shortly. The awards will take place on 5 July in Manchester.

Matmi scoops 5

17 June 2011: Macclesfield agency Matmi left the Palace Hotel with a total of five Big Chips at the awards ceremony on 16 June - including the Grand Prix and New Media Agency awards. Long-standing Big Chip winners Code Computerlove pulled ahead of rivals Stardotstar in the Big Chip Hall of Fame.

Record entries for Big Chip 2011

Big Chip 2011 closed with a record number of entries from a record number of entrants. The expert judging panel has been working its way through the entries and will be announcing the first shortlists mid-April.
