Project Director North & W1, BBC Future Media & Technology

Andy DavyAndy is Project Director for BBC FM&T’s moves to BBC North at MediaCityUK, Salford and to the new BBC Broadcasting Centre being created in London W1.  Future Media & Technology provides on-demand services to audiences and also provides technology leadership within the BBC.  BBC Research & Development is part of the division.

Andy joined the BBC in 1983 as a Graphic Designer and later moved to Yorkshire Television as Graphic Design Manager. On returning to the BBC he set up a leading-edge computer graphics unit for TV News.  

Later Andy moved to BBC Scotland to head the Resources department there, after which he ran BBC MediaArc, a newly-formed design and interactive agency.

Before his current role, Andy was Head of Technology for Nations & Regions, the BBC’s largest Division, with some 7,000 staff based throughout the British Isles.
