The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) leads the economic development and regeneration of England's Northwest through the delivery of the Northwest’s Regional Economic Strategy. England’s Northwest is home to a diverse range of internationally competitive sectors including the Digital and Creative Industry – it is the second largest broadcasting market in the UK and has a pedigree for producing outstanding creative talent. The NWDA understands the importance of this sector for the region's economy and is committed to supporting and promoting the dynamic and growing industries that have made the Northwest their home.

Since 1995 the sector has expanded at around twice the rate of the overall UK economy, with growth consistently outstripping national performance. Today the region boasts some 31,000 Creative and Digital businesses, employing around 321,000 people. The continued development of a world class Creative and Digital business sector has the potential to add £1billion to the regional economy, with additional benefits throughout the Northwest.
