Rules
- The Entrant, and the project if applicable, must satisfy the eligibility criteria for the category - see below.
- The judges reserve the right to reallocate submissions, which in their view, have been entered in the wrong or less appropriate category.
- The judges apply consistently high standards and may decide not to shortlist any entries in a category, or not to select a winner even if there are shortlisted entries.
- The Organisers reserve the right to retain copies of submissions for subsequent publication or exhibition in connection with the Awards.
- No correspondence will be entered into regarding submissions.
- The judges' decision is final.
- Submissions or associated materials that require returning to the Entrant should be clearly marked as so and must be collected. Submissions cannot be kept and will be disposed of after 5 August 2012.
- Whilst every care will be taken in the storage of posted material, the Organisers will not accept responsibility for loss or damage. Valuable items are to be insured by the entrant Organisation
Eligibility Criteria
Project categories and awards
The project as entered must have been launched, redeveloped or shown substantial measurable progress at some time between 15 March 2011 and 12 March 2012.
The Entrant can be the implementer of the project or their client. The product, service or project must principally originate in the North of England (except the Big Chip International Award for Innovation, which is open to entries developed anywhere). This normally means that the development work was largely carried out in the North of England or by an organisation based in the North of England; or that an organisation based in the North of England is mostly responsible for delivering the product or service. The North of England is defined as roughly anywhere north of Derby and south of Scotland.
Organisation or person categories and awards
(These are Best Established Freelancer/Micro-enterprise, Best Newcomer and Big Chip Digital Agency Award)
The Entrant must be based in the North of England. The North of England is defined as roughly anywhere north of Derby and south of Scotland.
The judges reserve the right to admit or disqualify any entry based on geographical eligibility.
