Agency: Fluid
Client: Brand Neusense
Project: Brandneusense.co.uk

Clothing retailer Brand Neusense approached Fluid creativity for branding, print and e-commerce services. The brand wanted a new e-commerce Web site with distinctive branding, easy to use features and flash animation. It was a stipulation that Brand Neusense wanted to do everything possible to maximise visitors and purchases meaning the agency had to pay close attention to flash in order to meet W3C standards.
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) were used for styling for screen display meaning that the site could be linearised successfully, page download time could be reduced and styling alterations could be made easily. Using CSS and semantic mark-up for the site meant that screen readers would be able to convey the contents of the site in a more understandable way and also users of older browsers would not be excluded from the experience. Whilst Flash was used for the navigation, the agency ensured the experience was the same for those without Flash or JavaScript activated, this method also allows the navigation to be spidered by search engines, eliminating the traditional problems associated with Flash. Moo.fx was used to provide enhanced elements for users with JavaScript enabled, however if it was disabled the functionality degrades elegantly so the usability is not hindered. The site is now seeing over 15,000 unique users per month.
