Daresbury Science & Innovation Campus – the high-tech community
Daresbury Science & Innovation Campus sits at the heart of the Government’s science and innovation strategy and is one of two national science and innovation campuses. It is supported by six stakeholders – NWDA, Science & Technology Facilities Council, Halton Borough Council and the Universities of Lancaster, Liverpool and Manchester.
It is home to 800 people including world-class scientists in the Daresbury Laboratory and National Centre for Accelerator Science (Cockcroft Institute), and entrepreneurs in over 60 high-tech businesses. These businesses, in areas such as ICT, healthcare, advanced engineering and energy, are growing at 30% per year.
With a highly networked community of over 1000 people the Campus brings expertise in areas from science and innovation to financing and business development.
The Campus will grow to about 2,000 people in the next 3 years with further investment in business and technology facilities.
